In September, I went to the Jacquard Center for a weaving workshop/retreat. For the first several days, we stayed at the center and prepared images. I worked on Maya (using the "hair" tools, mostly) and then imported my images into JacqCAD software to prepare the files for weaving.

Once the files were ready, we took a short drive to the Oriole Mill. There my images were woven on a Jacquard loom and were thus transformed from digital files into natural fibers, beautiful damask. The pictures below were taken during the weaving process (images of some of the finished tapestries are here):
